Live Debut announced: BBC Proms 2021

Sinfonia of London is delighted to have been invited to make its official live debut at the 2021 BBC Proms, the world’s biggest classical music festival.

Conducted by John Wilson, the orchestra’s first concert performance will include Korngold’s Symphony in F sharp, the piece which marked the re-launch of the orchestra and won a BBC Music Magazine Award in 2020.

Wilson’s programme weaves together four different visions of musical Vienna, with Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus overture, Maurice Ravel’s La Valse and Alban Berg’s Seven Early Songs featuring soprano Francesca Chiejina.

The performance on Saturday 4 September 2021 will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and filmed for TV broadcast on BBC Four on 9 September.
